Introduction
Following completion of our major Circum Arctic study (CAP) this www.ice-cap.net website not only allows licensees of the study immediate worldwide access to the entire product but also provides for all companies (regardless of whether they have licensed the study) access to new Arctic technical information and data. Up to date information on petroleum related activity and new technical, political and economic issues and news within the Arctic is available on a monthly basis. Subscribers to the ice-cap website gain access each year to new product. In 2004 an up to date revised structural elements map for the Circum Arctic Study was produced. This is still accessible but only via the ICE-CAP website. During 2005 a re-analysis of the economics section of the Circum Arctic study was undertaken to reflect the strengthening market not only in oil and gas prices but also in development costs, steel etc. A detailed review of North American gas market in relation to the Arctic pipelines and LNG transport has been included. All the economic cases run within the Circum Arctic study (listed below) have been re-assessed. All accessible via the ICE-CAP website only. Case Studies
In 2006 we updated basic well information for all Arctic wells released since the Circum Arctic Project (CAP) completion and added georeferenced map related figures from CAP for both the Petroleum Systems and the Reservoirs. For subscribers to the ICE-CAP website in 2007 the New Technical Content will include an update on specific aspects of the extensive Geochemistry Analysis included within the CAP (Circum Arctic Project) report plus a review of the latest Arctic climate research and predictions (ice retreat, ocean currents etc). As ever, these updates will only be accessible via the website. Future topics might include reviewing the research into the extent of, and potential future decrease in, the size of the icecap. As a general comment this website allows for the provision of data, such as Russian well and seismic information, which would typically be difficult and expensive for individual companies to access. By negotiating group licences, with a consultancy in the lead, prices should be kept to a low level. Additionally news on all aspects of petroleum activities in the Arctic is provided. Standard data releases (e.g. well and potential field and areas of new spec. seismic surveys), conferences and published papers will be monitored with particular emphasis on the following topics:
